The Bad Mitten Orchestre play contemporary Americana music with a gypsy heart and a cabaret spirit.
The songs on their "Saints of the Blue Avenue" full length are masterfully played and presented with surgically sharp sense of harmony.
My favorite numbers on this collection reveal a wicked sense of self and humor ("Sugar and Spice") but the band is just as powerful when they get heavy ("Nation of Two").
Honestly I can't imagine anyone who's a fan of Americana/folk/old school country who wouldn't find gems to cherish on "Saints of the Blue Avenue".
