Artist: The Church of Abject Sorrow

CD: "Blessed Sacrament"

Label: Vigilante Abortion Records

--

The Church of Abject Sorrow played stripped to the bone primitive rock that brings to mind greats like the Cramps and Nick Cave. This is raw-country based-noir/gothy-pissed to the gills-rage & sorrow driven-music to lock yourself in a room with for a week with a bottle of rye whiskey & sour memories.

It reminds me of my youth trapped in a lonely Wisconsin farm house all winter hating everything and wondering why anger and frustration are the first emotions to come to the surface when you feel isolated.

The Church of Abject Sorrow get the fact that there's a lot of commonality between George Jones, Bauhaus and the Sex Pistols.

Best song: "Honey Don't Dance"

God-damn I dig this CD.
