“It’s Only Halloween” by Walter Sickert & THe ARmy of BRoken TOys is the Sepiachord Song of the Day.
We’re saddened to hear about the passing of Stanley “Buckwheat” Dural, Jr.
Buckwheat Zydeco’s take on “Hey Joe” was my first real exposure to the genre.
He will be missed.
Gene Wilder starred in three of the most influential movies on my life; Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
He is truly a performer who I cannot imagine my life without.
Goodbye, and thank you, Mr Wilder. Give Gilda our regards.
Leonard Cohen says So Long to a muse~
Marianne Ihlen, the inspiration behind Cohen’s songs “So Long Marianne” and “Bird on a Wire”, passed away recently.
When he heard about her illness Cohen wrote her:
“It said well Marianne it’s come to this time when we are really so old and our bodies are falling apart and I think I will follow you very soon. Know that I am so close behind you that if you stretch out your hand, I think you can reach mine.
And you know that I’ve always loved you for your beauty and your wisdom, but I don’t need to say anything more about that because you know all about that. But now, I just want to wish you a very good journey. Goodbye old friend. Endless love, see you down the road.”
