Catching up with The Clockwork Dolls~
“Update and info about what’s to come
It’s been a while since I last updated everyone about what’s going on with the band and what is in the works for this summer. With that in mind, I figured you are all overdue for a a quick and dirty update.
Shows
That’s right, folks, we have one show coming up this May! We’ll be joining such bands as Strange Artifact and Victor Sierra, as well as ENSMB, at the next Steampunk World’s Fair in Piscataway New Jersey from May 18th – 20th.
For anyone who had seen our Saturday mainstage set at Steamcon 2011, you already have a pretty good idea of what we will bring to the table. That’s right, orchestral music with a hint of rock and a set that won’t stop until it’s every face in that audience is melted clean off. We’re going to roll out all the orchestral epics, and play them in a row with two new vocalists. So, if you’re at the con, come by and see us perform. We’d love to see you!
Vocalists
I suppose you’re wondering, “Woah! Two new vocalists what!?” I guess I should have done a better job explaining that to you. Yes, you read that correctly. We will have two vocalists covering this show. One you’ve most likely already heard, and if you’ve been to any of our shows you’ve met her. It’s Colette Lovelace; we love her, she loves us, we abducted her, and now she has to sing for us – it works out in the end, I promise. No chloroform was involved, I swear. The other? Well, let’s just say I’m very excited to work with her and based on what I heard last rehearsal I know you’ll be happy with what we’re doing as well.
Next Album
Ok, so, this is probably what most of you are wondering, since it’s been 2+ years since we released anything. I understand, folks, I really do, and I assure you I’m working on something new for all of you, and I’m doing this next album JUST FOR YOU.
What’s it going to sound like? Imagine the orchestral work that went through Iron Rose: the low points, the high rises, and the emotional climax. I want you, the listener, to relive that experience with an extensive piece that covers the expanse of an entire CD. Will there be vocals? Maybe. I’m certainly open for the possibility, but at this point I’m just writing, and I assure you, if you loved the orchestral elements of The Clockwork Dolls, this next CD is for you.
The goal for this next CD is to wrap up Dramatis Personae, instrumentally. The band is going to undergo a bit of an image overhaul, and I’d like to say goodbye to the past before taking all of you on the big grand adventure to come. (Album 3 … and believe me, I already have an idea on where I’d like to go with this.)
This will of course take me to the next part….
Prometheus Project
This, my friends, is a bit of an ambitious undertaking and one that I’ve been working on for a while. I can’t reveal much, but I will tell you this is the monster that will follow the next album. It will be multi media, you will have a story to follow, and, yes, the music will be grand. You will not be disappointed.
Other Stuff
Dramatis Personae was a great album; it kicked off The Clockwork Dolls, and it really was the first album I worked on from beginning to end that I could genuinely stand behind and listen to with pride. With this in mind, as of the end of July 2012, it will be available for free download. (THAT’S RIGHT, FOLKS, NO MORE TORRENTING THAT FILE WITH CLOCKWORK QUARTET ON THERE! YOU KNOW WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT!) If you’d like to throw money at us you’re certainly welcome to – digital downloads via iTunes/Amazon/Napster willl be up until the end of July. Hardcopy sales of Dramatis Personae have ceased as of March, but I have kept the remaining copies to give to die hard fans and friends of the band. If you’d like to pick up a copy, come see us at one of our shows and say “Hi.” They’re ten bucks a pop, and I’ll sign them as well as any body parts (LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADIES) without hesitation.
Something to listen to
So, there you have it. I’ll keep you all abreast (heh … breast) on the details of the new lineup/album as they come around. In the meanwhile, I posted this audio track on soundcloud a while ago, but for those of you who missed it, this should give you an idea on what the next album will sound like …

Listen to it and let me know what you think. I do listen to feedback and I love to hear back from our fanbase.
Until then, thank you for your support, and I want you all to know that you all are amazing.
